If you prefer your ale extra cold, place the pint or tulip glass in the freezer for 10–15 minutes or fill it with ice and cold water for 2–3 minutes, then dump out the ice and water before pouring.

Chill glass (optional)

If using ice in the glass (not traditional for this style), add about 1/2 cup of fresh ice to the glass now. Otherwise proceed without ice.

Hold the bottle upright for a moment to allow any agitated carbonation to settle. Remove the cap with a bottle opener, keeping the bottle upright.

Open bottle

Tilt the chilled glass to about 45 degrees. Begin pouring the Lagunitas A Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale gently down the side of the glass. When the glass is about two-thirds full, tilt it upright and finish pouring into the center to create a 1/2"–1" (1.5–2.5 cm) foamy head. This preserves aroma and carbonation.

First pour — create head

If the head is too large, wait 10–20 seconds for it to settle and then gently top off with a small additional pour. If it’s too small, pour faster into the center briefly to increase foam, then allow it to settle.

Adjust head

Optionally, run a lemon or orange wedge around the rim and drop it into the glass or set it on the rim. This adds a subtle citrus accent that pairs well with the ale's hop and wheat character.

Serve immediately while cold. Sip and enjoy the beer's smooth, slightly hoppy, juicy profile.
