Drink
Chill bottle
Place a 12 fl oz bottle of Mexican Coca‑Cola in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving so it is properly chilled. If you’re short on time, submerge the sealed bottle in an ice water bath for 10–15 minutes.
Prepare glass (optional salted rim)
If you want a salted rim, run a lime wedge around the outside lip of a tall glass, then dip the rim into a shallow dish with about 1 teaspoon coarse salt so a thin ring adheres. This is optional — Mexican Coke is commonly served plain.
Juice lime
Cut the lime in half and squeeze 1–2 teaspoons (about 10–15 ml) of fresh lime juice into a small bowl or directly into the glass. Reserve the remaining half for garnish.
Assemble drink
Fill the prepared glass with about 1 cup of ice cubes. Pour the freshly squeezed lime juice over the ice, then slowly open the chilled bottle of Mexican Coke and pour the 12 fl oz over the ice and lime juice to preserve carbonation. Stir gently once with a spoon or straw to combine.
Garnish and serve
Garnish with the remaining lime half or a lime wheel on the glass rim and optionally a sprig of fresh mint. Serve immediately while fizzy.
