Cocktail
Prepare glass
Fill a copper mule mug (or highball glass) about three-quarters full with crushed ice. If you prefer, chill the mug in the freezer for 5–10 minutes beforehand.
Build the cocktail
Pour 2 oz Jim Beam bourbon over the crushed ice, then add 0.5 oz fresh lime juice.
Top with ginger beer
Top the drink with approximately 4 oz ginger beer. Pour gently to preserve carbonation and stir once or twice with a bar spoon to combine the ingredients.
Garnish and serve
Express a lime wheel or wedge over the drink to release oils, drop it in as a garnish, and add a mint sprig if using. Serve immediately with a straw or strawless.
