Ham and Cheese Sandwich

Fit Turkey Wrap

A refreshing mix of red or white wine, fresh fruit, and citrus, with a hint of sweetness and a sparkling finish.

In a large pitcher (about 2.5–3 liters capacity), pour 1.5 liters of chilled dry red or white wine. Add 1/4 cup orange liqueur and 1/4 cup simple syrup (adjust to taste). Stir gently to combine.

Prepare base and sweeten

Thinly slice the orange, lemon, and lime. Core and dice the apple into 1/2-inch pieces. Halve larger strawberries or leave mixed berries whole if small. Add all prepared fruit to the pitcher with the wine mixture.

Slice and add fruit

Lightly muddle a few pieces of fruit against the side of the pitcher with the back of a wooden spoon to release juices (do not puree). For best flavor, cover and refrigerate the sangria for at least 2 hours and up to 12 hours to allow fruit to macerate and wine to infuse.

Macerate

When ready to serve, gently stir the sangria. Add 2 cups chilled club soda or sparkling water to lighten and add effervescence. If you want a bubblier, more celebratory sangria, add 1 cup chilled prosecco or cava instead of part of the soda; if using prosecco, reduce club soda to 1 cup.

Chill and carbonate

Add fresh mint leaves and optional cinnamon sticks to the pitcher for aroma. Spoon fruit into glasses and pour sangria over ice. Garnish each glass with an extra slice of orange or a mint sprig.

Garnish

Serve immediately so the sparkling component remains lively. Leftover sangria (without added soda/prosecco) will keep covered in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours; add soda/prosecco just before serving.
