Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Build the drink

Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add 2 oz Ole Smoky Blackberry Moonshine, 0.5 oz triple sec, 4 oz fresh lemonade, 0.5 oz fresh lemon juice and 0.25 oz simple syrup. Secure the lid.

  2. 2

    Shake

Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the shaker feels cold to the touch and ingredients are well combined and slightly frothy.

  3. 3

    Prepare glass

Fill a highball or Collins glass with fresh ice (about 3/4 full). If you prefer, lightly muddle 2 of the fresh blackberries in the bottom of the glass before adding ice to release a little juice and color.

  4. 4

    Strain

Double-strain the cocktail from the shaker into the prepared glass over the ice to catch any seeds or large pulp. If you muddled blackberries in the glass, you can pour directly without straining.

  5. 5

    Top & adjust

Taste and, if desired, add a splash (up to 0.25 oz) more simple syrup for extra sweetness or a little more lemon juice (0.25 oz) for brightness.

Garnish & Serve

  1. 6

Skewer 1 fresh blackberry (or 2) and place it on the rim or drop blackberries into the drink. Add a lemon wheel or wedge on the rim and a mint sprig if using. Serve with a straw or stirrer.

  2. 7

Serve immediately while cold. Estimated presentation: vivid pink-purple hue with fresh fruit garnish.
