Blue Moon Margarita

Method

Blue Moon Margarita

1

Prepare glass

Run the lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or margarita glass. Pour the coarse salt onto a small plate and dip the rim into the salt to coat. Set the glass aside.

2

Combine ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, add 1 cup of ice, 2 oz El Jimador tequila, 1 oz Natalie's fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz organic agave nectar.

3

Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker is cold and properly diluted (you should feel the metal get very cold).

4

Strain into glass

Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice. Strain the margarita mixture into the glass, leaving room for the blue curaçao and optional soda.

5

Add Blue Moon color and top

Slowly pour 0.5 oz blue curaçao over the back of a spoon or down the side of the glass so it sinks and creates a layered 'blue moon' effect. If desired, top with 0.5 oz club soda for a touch of effervescence.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish with the reserved lime wedge on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer so the guest can blend the blue layer if they wish.
