1. Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
2. Melt chocolate and butter
In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or in the microwave in short bursts, stirring until smooth.
3. Mix sugar and eggs
In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar and eggs until the mixture is light and fluffy.
4. Combine mixtures
Pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, stirring continuously to combine.
5. Add dry ingredients
Sift the flour and salt into the chocolate mixture, then fold in gently until just combined. Add the vanilla extract and mix briefly.
6. Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
