Ahi Tuna and Accompaniments
Method
Preparation and Cooking
Marinate the Tuna
In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, salt, and pepper. Place the Ahi tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Cook the Tuna
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the Ahi tuna from the marinade and sear in the hot skillet for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if desired. Remove from the skillet and let rest.
Prepare the Rice
While the tuna is marinating, prepare the steamed rice according to package instructions.
Stir-fry Vegetables
In the same skillet used for the tuna, add the mixed stir-fry vegetables and sauté for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp. You can add a splash of extra soy sauce if desired.
Serve
Slice the seared Ahi tuna and serve it over a bed of steamed rice with the stir-fried vegetables on the side.
