Method

Pickled Veggies

1

Prepare the Pickling Liquid

In a saucepan, combine white vinegar, sugar, salt, and water. Bring to a simmer until the sugar and salt dissolve.

2

Pickle the Vegetables

Place cucumber, carrots, and red onion in a jar. Pour the hot pickling liquid over the veggies. Add bay leaves and peppercorns. Let cool, then refrigerate for at least 24 hours.

Spiced Nuts

3

Combine Ingredients

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a bowl, mix mixed nuts, olive oil, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt.

4

Bake the Nuts

Spread the nut mixture onto a baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until golden and fragrant. Let cool.

Olives

5

Prepare the Olives

In a bowl, toss mixed olives with olive oil and herbs. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

House Crackers

6

Make the Dough

In a bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in water until a dough forms.

7

Roll and Cut the Crackers

Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes and place on a baking sheet. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.

8

Bake the Crackers

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before serving.
