Method

Grind and Measure

1

Measure beans

Weigh or scoop coffee beans to achieve a brew ratio of about 1:16 (coffee:water). For a 12 fl oz (360 ml) cup, use 0.0625 cups (about 10–12 g) of whole beans. Adjust to strength preference.

2

Grind

Grind the beans to a medium grind (similar to table salt) if using a drip brewer. If using a French press, use a coarser grind; for an espresso machine, use a fine grind.

Brew

3

Heat fresh cold water to the appropriate temperature. For automatic drip, target 195–205°F (90–96°C). If boiling, bring to a boil then let sit 30 seconds. Pour measured 12 oz (360 ml) water into your brewer's reservoir or kettle.

4

Place ground coffee into the filter or basket (or French press). Start the brew: for drip machines, run the machine; for pour-over, wet the grounds briefly (bloom) with ~30–40 ml water and wait 30 seconds, then pour remaining water slowly for a total of 12 oz; for French press, pour all water, stir, steep 4 minutes, then press.

5

When brewing completes, serve immediately. For carafes or airpots used for unlimited refills, keep coffee hot between 175–185°F (79–85°C) to preserve flavor without overcooking.

Finish and Serve

6

If desired, add milk or cream (about 2 tbsp) and sugar (1 tsp) or sweetener to taste. Stir and taste; adjust additions if needed.

7

Offer unlimited refills by keeping a full pot or airpot of freshly brewed BHB Breakfast Blend available. Re-brew periodically (every 1–2 hours) to maintain brightness — avoid serving coffee that has been sitting on a hot plate for many hours.
