Muddle the Sugar and Bitters
In an Old Fashioned glass, place the sugar cube and add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters on top. Add 1 teaspoon of water to dissolve the sugar. Use a muddler to crush the sugar cube and mix it with the bitters until fully dissolved.

Pour the Bourbon
Pour 2 oz of bourbon over the ice cubes in the glass.

Stir the Cocktail
Gently stir the mixture with a bar spoon for about 20 seconds to chill the drink and combine the ingredients.

Garnish with Orange Peel
Take a fresh orange and cut a twist of peel. Express the oils from the peel over the cocktail by holding it over the glass and gently squeezing it. Then, drop the peel into the drink as a garnish.
