Method

Meatballs

1

Prepare the Meatballs

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

2

Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

3

Cook the Meatballs

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and browned.

Marinara Sauce

4

Cook the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

5

Combine Ingredients

Add crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the skillet. Stir and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

Assembly

6

Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Once the meatballs are cooked, add them to the marinara sauce and let them simmer together for an additional 5 minutes.

7

Prepare the Bread

While the meatballs are simmering, heat a skillet over medium heat. Spread butter on one side of each slice of rustic bread and grill until golden brown.

8

Serve

To serve, place the meatballs in a bowl, top with shredded mozzarella cheese, and let it melt slightly before serving with grilled rustic bread on the side.
