Method

Prepare the Salad Base

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop Romaine

Rinse the romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water. Shake off excess water and chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Place in a large salad bowl.

  2. 2

    Grate Parmesan Cheese

Using a grater, shred the parmesan cheese and sprinkle it over the chopped romaine lettuce in the salad bowl.

Make the Croutons

  1. 3

    Prepare the Bread

Cut the bread into small cubes, about 1 inch in size. You should have approximately 3 cups of bread cubes.

  2. 4

    Season and Bake

In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Toss well to ensure the bread is evenly coated. Spread the bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10-15 minutes, or until the croutons are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let cool.

Prepare the Dressing

  1. 5

    Mix the Dressing Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.

Assemble the Salad

  1. 6

    Combine Ingredients

In the large salad bowl with the romaine and parmesan, add the cooled croutons. Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine the ingredients, ensuring the lettuce and croutons are well coated with the dressing.
