Whiskey Ginger Cocktail

Method

Whiskey Ginger Cocktail

1

Prepare glass and ice

Fill a highball glass with cubed ice until about 3/4 full. If you prefer a chilled glass, place the glass in the freezer 10–15 minutes before making the drink and use fewer ice cubes.

2

Measure whiskey

Pour 2 oz Johnnie Walker Red Label over the ice in the prepared glass.

3

Add lime juice

Add 1/2 oz fresh lime juice to the glass. If you like a brighter citrus note, squeeze the lime wedge as well and drop the wedge in the glass.

4

Top with ginger ale

Gently pour 4 oz chilled ginger ale into the glass. Pour slowly over the back of a spoon or down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation if desired.

5

Optional bitters

If using, add 1–2 dashes of Angostura bitters on top to introduce aromatic complexity.

6

Stir and garnish

Use a bar spoon (or a long spoon) to give the drink one to two gentle stirs to combine the whiskey, lime, and ginger ale without knocking out too much fizz. Garnish with the lime wedge on the rim or floated in the drink.

7

Serve

Serve immediately while cold and fizzy.
