Cocktail

2 oz Smirnoff vodka (or plain vodka)1/2 oz Fresh lime juice1/2 oz Simple syrup (1:1 sugar to water)2 oz Club soda (or sparkling water)1 cup Ice1 piece Lime wedge or wheel (for garnish)

Method

Prepare glass

Fill a highball or Collins glass with ice (about 1 cup). Set the glass aside while you mix or keep in use to chill the glass.

Mix

In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass filled halfway with ice, pour 2 oz vodka, 0.5 oz freshly squeezed lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup. Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until well chilled. If using a mixing glass, stir for about 15 seconds and then briefly double-strain into the serving glass.

Assemble

Strain the chilled mixture into the prepared glass over the ice. Top with 2 oz club soda (or to taste) and give a gentle stir (1–2 turns) to integrate.

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw or stirring spoon.
