Blueberry Tea Base

Method

Preparation

1

Prepare water and tea

Heat 240 ml water until just shy of boiling (about 95°C). Place 1 teaspoon of Earl Grey loose-leaf tea in an infuser and steep in the hot water for 3–4 minutes. Remove the tea leaves.

2

Muddle blueberries

In your serving mug, gently muddle 1/2 cup fresh blueberries using the back of a spoon to release their juice and aroma.

3

Combine tea with berries

Pour the hot, infused tea over the muddled blueberries in the mug.

4

Add liqueurs

Stir in 45 ml amaretto and 30 ml Grand Marnier until fully integrated.

5

Sweeten and adjust

Stir in 1 teaspoon honey until dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired.

6

Serve

Serve immediately while hot. Optional: garnish with a few remaining blueberries.
