Method
Prepare Glass & Garnish
Chill glass (optional)
Place the old fashioned glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to lightly chill it. Discard the ice water before serving.
Using a peeler or small knife, cut a wide strip of orange peel about 1.5–2 inches long. Trim to remove excess pith for a clean twist.
Build & Stir
Add large ice cubes to the mixing glass until about three-quarters full.
Measure and pour 1 oz Malfy Blood Orange Gin into the mixing glass.
Measure and pour 1 oz Campari into the mixing glass.
Measure and pour 1 oz Martini Rosso (sweet vermouth) into the mixing glass.
Place a large ice cube or ice sphere into the chilled old fashioned glass.
Strain the stirred cocktail from the mixing glass into the prepared rocks glass over the large ice cube.
Finish & Serve
Express the orange peel over the drink by holding it skin-side down about 2–3 inches above the glass and giving it a sharp twist to release oils onto the surface.
Rub the rim of the glass lightly with the orange peel, then drop the peel into the drink as garnish.
Serve immediately. Recommend serving with a small napkin and enjoy responsibly.
