Mojito
Method
Mojito
Prepare glass and mint
Place 10 fresh mint leaves into a sturdy highball or Collins glass. Add 2 teaspoons granulated sugar on top of the leaves.
Muddle
Squeeze 0.75 oz fresh lime juice over the mint and sugar (if you prefer, add a lime wedge and squeeze it). Using a muddler, gently press and twist the mint leaves with the sugar and lime to release the oils and dissolve the sugar. Do not over-muddle — you want fragrant bruising, not shredded mint.
Garnish and serve
Add a fresh mint sprig and a lime wedge or wheel to the rim. Optionally slap the mint sprig between your palms once to release extra aroma before placing it in the drink. Serve immediately with a straw.
