Botanic Passion Cocktail
Method
Botanic Passion Cocktail
Prepare glass
Chill a highball or Collins glass by filling it with ice and setting it aside while you measure and mix the ingredients (about 2–3 minutes).
Combine base ingredients
In a cocktail shaker or mixing tin (no alcohol required), add 2 oz Seedlip Garden 108, 1 oz passion fruit purée, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice (about 3/4 full).
Shake
Shake vigorously for 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels cold. This chills and lightly dilutes the purée mixture so it integrates smoothly with soda.
Double-strain into glass
Double-strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass over the fresh ice to remove seeds and excess pulp (use a Hawthorne and fine mesh strainer).
Top with soda
Gently top the drink with 3 oz chilled soda water. Pour slowly down a bar spoon if you want a layered effect and to preserve carbonation.
Finish and garnish
Stir gently once with a bar spoon (2–3 rotations) to integrate soda without flattening. Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim, half a passion fruit floated on top (optional), and/or a mint sprig for aromatics.
Serve
Serve immediately while soda is still effervescent. Provide a straw if desired.
