Method

Shrimp Preparation

1

Boil the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Squeeze the juice from the halved lemon into the water and then add the lemon halves to the pot along with the Old Bay seasoning.

2

Cook the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the shrimp. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook them.

3

Cool the Shrimp

Remove the shrimp from the boiling water and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them sit for about 5 minutes, then drain and refrigerate until chilled.

Cocktail Sauce Preparation

4

Mix the Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine the ketchup, prepared horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (to taste). Stir well until all ingredients are fully combined.

5

Adjust Seasoning

Taste the cocktail sauce and adjust the level of hot sauce according to your spice preference.

Serving

6

Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter or individual serving dishes.

7

Serve with Sauce

Serve the shrimp alongside the spicy-citrus cocktail sauce for dipping.
