Filling and Crust

Method

Preparation and Baking

1

Prepare the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, lemon juice, and Laird's Apple Jack Brandy. Toss the ingredients until the apples are well coated. Let sit for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

2

Prepare the Crust

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Roll out the apple pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan. Pour the apple filling into the crust, making sure to distribute the apples evenly.

3

Make the Egg White Topping

In a small bowl, whisk the egg white until frothy. Brush the egg white over the exposed crust to give it a golden color when baked.

4

Bake the Pie

Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for an additional 30-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.

5

Finish with St. Germain

Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and let it cool slightly. Drizzle St. Germain over the top before serving for an extra layer of flavor.
