Fresh Juice

Method

Fresh Juice

1

Prepare and combine juices

If not already juiced, squeeze oranges and lemon and measure pineapple and apple juices. In a large pitcher (at least 2 liters), pour 2 cups fresh orange juice, 1 cup pineapple juice and 1 cup apple juice. Add 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice and stir to combine.

2

Add ginger

Grate about 1 teaspoon fresh ginger directly into the pitcher and stir. The ginger adds a bright, slightly spicy note that balances the sweetness.

Sweetener & Flavor

3

Sweeten to taste

Add 2 teaspoons honey or agave syrup. Stir thoroughly until dissolved. Taste the juice and add up to 1โ€“2 more teaspoons sweetener if you prefer a sweeter drink. If using honey and the juice is very cold, briefly stir or warm a teaspoon of juice to help dissolve the honey before mixing back in.

4

Mint infusion (optional)

Lightly bruise the 8 mint leaves by clapping them between your palms or gently crushing with a spoon to release aromatics. Add the leaves to the pitcher and stir. For a stronger mint flavor, muddle a few leaves in the bottom of the pitcher before adding juice.

Chill & Serve

5

Adjust strength and chill

If the juice tastes too concentrated, add up to 1 cup cold water or sparkling water and stir gently. Refrigerate the pitcher for at least 30 minutes to chill and let flavors meld. For best flavor, chill 1โ€“2 hours.

6

Serve over ice

Fill glasses with ice cubes (about 1/4 cup per glass). Pour chilled juice over the ice. Garnish each glass with a lemon or orange slice and a sprig of mint if desired. Serve immediately.

7

Storage

Store leftover juice in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours. Stir or gently shake before serving, as natural separation may occur. Do not freeze in the same container if using carbonated water.
