Build the drink
Place the old fashioned glass on your work surface. Add the 0.25 oz simple syrup to the glass.

Garnish and finish
Express the orange peel over the surface of the drink by holding it with the outside facing down and giving it a sharp twist to spray the oils across the drink. Rub the peel around the rim of the glass, then drop the peel into the drink or set it on the rim. Add one Luxardo or maraschino cherry on a pick or drop it into the glass.

Serve immediately. Enjoy responsibly.
Simple Syrup (if making fresh)

Combine equal parts granulated sugar and water (for example, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water) in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is clear. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Store refrigerated in a sealed container for up to 2 weeks.
