Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Chill glass

Place the martini or coupe glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to ensure it is well chilled.

  2. 2

    Measure ingredients

Measure 2 oz Tito’s Vodka, 0.75 oz St. Germain, 0.5 oz Triple Sec, and 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice. If you prefer a slightly sweeter cocktail, also measure 0.25 oz simple syrup (optional).

  3. 3

    Add to shaker

Add the measured spirits, lemon juice, and optional simple syrup into a cocktail shaker. Add 6 ice cubes to the shaker.

  4. 4

    Dry shake (optional)

If you like a slightly frothier texture, briefly dry shake (no ice) for 8–10 seconds before adding ice. This step is optional and not traditional for this spirit-forward martini-style cocktail.

  5. 5

    Shake

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes frosty and well chilled. This chills and dilutes the cocktail to balance the bright lemon and floral notes.

  6. 6

    Prepare garnish

While shaking, use a vegetable peeler or a sharp paring knife to cut a 1/2-inch wide lemon twist (about 2–3 inches long). If desired, express the lemon oils over the glass by holding the twist over the glass and giving it a quick pinch so the oils spray onto the surface of the cocktail.

  7. 7

    Double strain & serve

Empty the ice or water from the chilled glass. Using a Hawthorne or fine strainer, double-strain the cocktail into the chilled martini/coupe glass to remove small ice shards and ensure a silky texture.

  8. 8

    Garnish and finish

Run the lemon twist around the rim of the glass for an aromatic hit, then place it on the rim or drop it into the cocktail. Serve immediately.

Service Notes

  1. 9

Tasting profile: bright, floral, and slightly citrus-forward. Adjust sweetness with up to 0.5 oz simple syrup if your lemons are particularly tart or you prefer a softer edge.

  2. 10

Batching: multiply ingredient volumes by number of servings and store chilled. Add ice and shake in smaller batches (max 4 servings per shaker) to ensure proper dilution and chilling.
