Method
Cocktail
- 1
Prepare and shake
Add 2 oz Captain Morgan White Rum, 1 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz triple sec, 0.5 oz grenadine, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and 2 maraschino cherries (with a little syrup) into a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup). Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.
- 2
Strain
Double-strain the mixture into a chilled highball or Collins glass filled with cracked ice (about 1 cup). Use a Hawthorne strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove cherry bits and ice shards for a smooth pour.
Top / Garnish
- 3
Top the strained cocktail with 2 oz club soda or sparkling water to add effervescence. Gently stir once with a bar spoon to combine—do not over-stir to preserve fizz.
- 4
Garnish with a lime wheel or slice on the rim and an additional maraschino cherry skewered or dropped into the drink. Optionally, drizzle a tiny extra splash (about 0.25 oz) of grenadine down the side of the glass for a layered color effect.
- 5
Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy. Provide a small cocktail napkin.
