Method
Bacon
Cook bacon
Place a small skillet over medium heat. Add 1 tsp oil or 1–2 tbsp water if using lower-fat cooking to prevent sticking. When pan is hot, add the bacon strip. Cook 2–4 minutes per side, flipping once, until bacon reaches desired crispness. For thinner bacon expect 2–3 minutes per side; for thicker slices 3–4 minutes. Transfer cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and keep warm.
Mini Biscuits & Jam
Bake or heat biscuits
If using frozen or canned biscuit dough: follow package directions. Typically, preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place 2 mini biscuits on a baking sheet lined with parchment, spacing apart. Bake 10–12 minutes until golden. If biscuits are ready-to-eat or pre-baked, reheat in a 325°F (160°C) oven for 4–6 minutes or microwave 12–20 seconds. Keep warm.
Prepare jam
Spoon 2 tsp of jam into a small dish. Optionally spread 1 tsp butter onto one or both biscuits after baking, then serve jam on the side or spread a thin layer on each biscuit to taste.
Scrambled Egg
Whisk egg
Crack 1 large egg into a small bowl. Add 1 tablespoon milk, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of black pepper. Whisk vigorously until yolk and white are fully combined and slightly frothy (about 15–30 seconds).
Cook egg
Heat a small nonstick skillet over low–medium-low heat. Add 1 tsp unsalted butter and let it melt, swirling to coat the pan. Pour the whisked egg into the pan. Let it sit undisturbed for about 10–15 seconds until edges begin to set. Using a silicone spatula, gently push the cooked edges toward the center, allowing uncooked egg to flow to the edges. Continue gently folding every 10–15 seconds until softly set but still moist, about 45–60 seconds total. Remove from heat just before fully set (carryover heat will finish cooking). Transfer to plate and keep warm.
Plating & Serve
Arrange the scrambled egg, cooked bacon, and two mini biscuits on a child-friendly plate. Place jam and optional butter beside the biscuits or pre-spread on one biscuit. Add a small portion of fresh fruit if using. Let the food cool to a safe temperature before serving to a child. Serve immediately.
