Method
Cocktail
Chill glass
Fill a highball or pint glass with ice and set aside to chill while you mix the drink.
Combine ingredients
In a cocktail shaker or mixing glass, add vodka, tomato juice, fresh lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, prepared horseradish, celery salt, smoked paprika, and several grinds of freshly ground black pepper.
Add ice and mix
Add a cup of ice to the shaker or mixing glass. Roll or gently shake the mixture 6–8 seconds to chill and mildly aerate (shaking will make it slightly frothier; rolling preserves texture). Do not over-dilute.
Garnish & Pickle
Skewer peppadews
Thread 2–3 jarred, pickled peppadew peppers onto a cocktail pick. If desired, add the lemon wheel on the pick as well.
Serve
Serve immediately while cold. Advise the drinker that the peppadews are pickled and spicy-sweet — they can be eaten between sips to add bursts of flavor.
