Cocktail Preparation
Gather Ingredients
Gather all cocktail ingredients: bourbon, birch syrup, Angostura bitters, orange peel, and ice cubes.
Mix Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of bourbon, 0.5 oz of birch syrup, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
Add Ice
Add 3 ice cubes to the mixing glass to chill the mixture.
Stir
Stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
Strain
Strain the mixture into an Old Fashioned glass over one large ice cube.
Garnishing
Garnish with Orange Peel
Express the oils of the orange peel over the cocktail by holding it over the glass and twisting it, then place it in the drink.
Add Cherry and Mint
Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a couple of fresh mint leaves on top.
