Preparation
Prepare the Watermelon
Cut the watermelon into cubes and remove the seeds. Place the cubes in a blender or food processor.
Blend the Ingredients
Add sugar, lemon juice, and salt to the blended watermelon. Blend until smooth.
Chill the Mixture
Pour the mixture into a bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill.
Churn the Sorbet
Transfer the chilled mixture to an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Freeze the Sorbet
Transfer the sorbet to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
Prepare the Garnish
While the sorbet is freezing, compress the remaining watermelon with basil and prepare the chamoy and tajín for serving.
