The brand has roots that run 300 years deep and even the bottle speaks of an origin story. Shaped like a standing monk in a draped habit, the bottle contains a rich liqueur that is the perfect addition to coffees and other after-dinner drinks. The toasty taste of hazelnut is also great over ice.

Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur (serving & garnish)

Frangelico over coffee (optional served as after-dinner drink)

Frangelico affogato-style (optional dessert variation)

Method

Frangelico served over ice

1

Prepare glass

Select an old-fashioned or rocks glass. Fill the glass with large ice cubes to chill while you prepare the drink.

2

Discard any meltwater from the glass, keeping the ice, then pour 2 oz Frangelico over the ice. Stir gently with a bar spoon for 10–15 seconds to slightly chill and integrate.

3

Garnish with a sprinkle of chopped toasted hazelnuts on top or an expressed orange twist (run the twist over the rim and drop in). Serve immediately to enjoy the liqueur's toasted hazelnut aroma and texture.

Frangelico in coffee (after-dinner served hot)

4

Brew a fresh espresso shot or 6 oz strong hot coffee and pour into a warmed coffee cup.

5

Add 1–1.5 oz Frangelico to the hot coffee and stir to combine. Taste and adjust to preference — increase liqueur for a sweeter, nuttier cup.

6

Top with a dollop of whipped cream if desired and dust lightly with confectioners' sugar for a pretty finish. Serve hot.

Frangelico affogato-style dessert

7

Place two scoops of vanilla ice cream into a small dessert bowl or glass.

8

Pour 2 oz hot espresso or strong coffee over the ice cream, then drizzle 1 oz Frangelico on top. Allow a few seconds for melting and serve immediately with a spoon.
