Cocktail Preparation

Step 1: Prepare the Glass

Chill a coupe or cocktail glass by filling it with ice water and setting it aside.

Step 2: Make Fresno Chili Simple Syrup

In a small saucepan, combine equal parts water and sugar with sliced Fresno chilies. Simmer for 10 minutes, then cool and strain.

Step 3: Combine Ingredients

In a cocktail shaker, combine mezcal, Acho Reyes, Fresno chili simple syrup, fresh lime juice, and activated charcoal powder.

Step 4: Shake

Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well chilled.

Step 5: Strain and Serve

Discard the ice water from the chilled glass. Strain the mixture into the glass.

Step 6: Garnish

Garnish with a lime wheel and a slice of Fresno chili on top.
