Prepare glass
Select a highball glass (or Collins). Fill the glass with ice cubes or crushed ice to the top so the drink stays cold and properly diluted.

Add gin and lime
Pour 2 oz London dry gin over the ice. Add 0.5 oz freshly squeezed lime juice. If you prefer a touch of sweetness, add 0.25 oz simple syrup or agave now.

Top with soda
Carefully top the mixture with approximately 4 oz chilled club soda. Pour slowly to preserve effervescence and to avoid overflowing.

Stir gently
Using a bar spoon, give the drink one or two gentle stirrings from top to bottom to combine ingredients without flattening the soda.

Garnish and serve
Garnish with a lime wedge or wheel at the rim. Optionally, squeeze the lime wedge into the drink before dropping it in for extra brightness. Serve immediately with a short straw.
