Fountain Soda & Iced Tea Station (per serving/refill)

Method

Fountain Soda & Iced Tea Station (per serving/refill)

1

Prepare glass

Select a clean glass appropriate for the drink. Fill the glass with 6 ice cubes (approximately 3/4 full for a standard 12–16 oz glass).

2

Serve Coca‑Cola or Diet Coke

If serving Coca‑Cola or Diet Coke: hold the cup at a slight angle under the soda dispenser. Pour the chosen cola slowly to fill the glass to about 1/2 inch (1 cm) below the rim to avoid overflow. For a balanced carbonation-to-liquid ratio, pour for about 4–6 seconds depending on dispenser flow. Do not overfill—leave room for a straw and any foam to settle.

3

Serve Ginger Ale or Sprite

If serving ginger ale or Sprite: hold the glass at a slight angle and dispense the soda slowly to reduce foaming. Fill to about 1/2 inch (1 cm) below the rim. For an extra touch, squeeze a lime wedge over the soda and drop the wedge into the glass if desired.

4

Serve Iced Tea

If serving iced tea: pour chilled brewed tea from the dispenser into the prepared glass until about 1/2 inch (1 cm) below the rim. If customers prefer sweet tea, add sweetener to taste (sugar, simple syrup or liquid sweetener). Garnish with a lemon wedge by squeezing it over the tea and dropping it in, if desired.

5

Refill etiquette and temperature

For refills, inspect the glass briefly; if it is very sticky or contains significant residue, offer a fresh glass. Use fresh ice for each refill when possible to maintain drink quality. Maintain soda and tea dispensers at recommended temperatures (approximately 35–40°F / 2–4°C) and monitor carbonation levels so pours remain consistent.

6

Optional finishing

Provide a straw and a napkin. If requested, add more ice (up to the glass capacity) or an extra citrus wedge. For mixed requests (e.g., half cola, half iced tea), dispense each beverage sequentially into the same glass, pouring slowly to minimize foaming and mixing gently with a straw if needed.
