Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass

1

Rim (optional)

If you want a salted or Tajín rim, rub a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks or coupe glass, then dip the rim into a shallow dish with coarse salt or Tajín. Set the glass aside.

2

If serving shaken over ice in a rocks glass, fill the glass with fresh ice to chill while you prepare the cocktail. If serving straight up, chill the glass in the freezer or with ice and discard the ice before pouring.

Mixing

3

Measure and Combine

Add 2 oz blanco tequila, 1 oz amaretto, 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lime juice, 0.5 oz freshly squeezed orange juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup into a cocktail shaker.

4

Add Ice

Fill the shaker with ice (about 0.5 to 1 cup) to properly chill and dilute the drink.

5

Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is very cold and well-chilled.

6

Optional Bitters

If using, add 2 dashes of orange bitters into the shaker before a final brief shake (5 seconds) to integrate the bitters.

Strain & Serve

7

Discard ice from the chilled glass if you pre-chilled it. Strain the contents of the shaker through a fine strainer (or Hawthorne) into the prepared glass. For a rocks presentation, serve over fresh ice. For a coupe or martini-style, serve without ice.

8

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge and an orange twist or slice placed on the rim or floated on the surface.

9

Serve immediately and advise the drinker to enjoy responsibly.
