Cocktail
Method
Cocktail
Prepare glass and mint
Select a large wine glass or stemmed glass and add the fresh mint leaves to the glass. Lightly clap the mint between your palms once to release aroma, then gently bruise the leaves in the glass with a muddler or the back of a spoon (5–6 light presses). Do not shred the mint — just release the oils.
Add liqueur and lime
Pour 1.5 oz elderflower liqueur and 0.5 oz fresh lime juice over the ice and mint. Give the mixture one gentle stir (about 3–4 rotations) to combine flavors without flattening carbonation later.
Top with prosecco and soda
Slowly pour 6 oz chilled Prosecco into the glass at an angle to preserve effervescence. Add 1 oz chilled soda water on top. Stir very gently once to integrate (one or two slow turns).
Garnish and serve
Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and a small sprig of mint. Serve immediately with a straw or cocktail stirrer so the drink can be refreshed without crushing the mint.
