Aperol Spritz

Method

Aperol Spritz

1

Chill glass and ingredients

If possible, chill the wine glass and the prosecco in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes beforehand. Ensure the prosecco and soda water are well chilled.

2

Add ice

Fill a large wine glass about three-quarters full with ice cubes (about 1 cup). This keeps the drink cold and preserves the delicate bubbles.

3

Pour prosecco

Pour 3 oz of chilled prosecco into the glass over the ice. Pour gently to retain bubbles.

4

Add Aperol

Slowly add 2 oz of Aperol. Pouring it after the prosecco helps create a layered look and mixes gently without losing too much effervescence.

5

Top with soda

Add 1 oz of chilled soda water to top the cocktail. Stir once gently with a bar spoon or by lifting and turning the glass—do not vigorously stir to avoid flattening the prosecco.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish with one fresh orange slice placed on the rim or floated in the drink. Serve immediately while cold and effervescent.
