Method

Fruit

1

Prepare strawberries

Rinse strawberries under cold water, gently pat dry, remove hulls and halve or quarter to make approximately 1 cup.

2

Prepare pineapple

Peel the pineapple, remove the core, and cut into bite-sized pieces until you have about 1 cup. Rinse pieces and drain briefly.

3

Prepare grapes and blueberries

Rinse grapes and blueberries under cold water, drain well. Remove stems from grapes and measure 1 cup grapes and 1/2 cup blueberries.

4

Prepare kiwi

Peel the kiwis with a paring knife or spoon and slice into thin rounds or half-moons. Use two kiwis to yield roughly the listed amount.

5

Prepare orange

Slice off the top and bottom of the orange, stand it upright and cut away the peel and pith. Working over a small bowl to catch juices, segment the orange with a sharp knife and remove any remaining membrane pieces.

6

Prepare apple

Core the apple and thinly slice. To prevent browning, place apple slices in the bowl with the lime juice and toss lightly to coat (this also adds brightness).

7

Assemble fruit plate

On a large serving plate or individual plates, arrange fruit in separate clusters or in a colorful pattern (e.g., strawberries, pineapple, grapes, blueberries, kiwi, orange, apple). Keep similar sizes together for visual balance. Reserve any excess juices in the small bowl to drizzle if desired.

Finishing & optional

8

Dress and garnish

Drizzle the reserved orange/lime juices lightly over the fruit plate. If using honey, warm the teaspoon briefly (5–8 seconds) in the microwave to thin and drizzle sparingly over fruits. Sprinkle toasted coconut flakes and a very light dusting of ground black pepper if desired. Scatter fresh mint leaves around the plate for aroma and color.

9

Serve

Serve immediately at room temperature or chilled for 10–15 minutes. If not serving right away, cover loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate up to 2 hours to maintain freshness; toss apples again with a little lime if browning begins.
