Mac 'n' Cheese Ingredients

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Macaroni

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon (if using)

In a skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from pan, let cool, and crumble. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until bubbly. Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Cook until the sauce thickens.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

  5. 5

    Combine Macaroni and Sauce

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well coated. If using, fold in the crumbled bacon.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the mac 'n' cheese hot, garnished with extra cheese or bacon if desired.
