Strawberry Shake

Enjoy a creamy and refreshing regular-sized strawberry shake made with ripe strawberries and smooth vanilla ice cream.

Jinro | 6% abv | 25oz bottle. Makgeolli is a CLOUDY rice wine with light fresh bubbles. Light and fruity in taste with clear aromas of rice. Pairs great with seafood pancake and meat dishes.

Rinse the sweet rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for about 6 hours or overnight.

Prepare the Sweet Rice

Drain the soaked rice and steam it in a steamer basket lined with cheesecloth or a clean kitchen towel for about 30 minutes until fully cooked.

Steam the Rice

Transfer the steamed rice to a large bowl and allow it to cool to room temperature.

Cool the Rice

Once the rice is cool, add the nuruk to the rice and mix well. Gradually add in 4 cups of water and stir until the mixture is well combined.

Cover the bowl with a clean cloth and let it ferment at room temperature for 3 to 5 days. Stir the mixture once a day.

Fermentation

After fermentation, strain the mixture through a cheesecloth into a clean container, squeezing out as much liquid as possible. Add sugar to taste and mix well.

Strain and Bottle

Transfer the strained Makgeolli into bottles and refrigerate. Serve chilled, preferably with seafood pancakes or meat dishes.
