Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and allow it to reach room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

2

Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Rub both sides of the ribeye with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Sprinkle chopped fresh rosemary on both sides of the steak.

Grilling

3

Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to high heat, approximately 450-500°F (232-260°C). If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are hot and glowing.

4

Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steak on the hot grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it to achieve a good sear.

5

Flip the Steak

Using tongs, flip the steak and grill for another 4-5 minutes on the other side for medium-rare. Adjust the cooking time to your desired doneness.

6

Check for Doneness

Use an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the steak. For medium-rare, the temperature should read 130-135°F (54-57°C).

7

Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.
