Build the drink
Fill a highball glass (12–16 oz) about two-thirds full with cubed ice.
Add whiskey and lime
Pour 2 oz Seagram's Seven over the ice, then add 1/2 oz fresh lime juice.
Top with ginger ale
Top with about 4 oz chilled ginger ale, pouring gently to preserve carbonation. Stir once gently with a bar spoon (4–6 slow strokes) to integrate.
Bitters and garnish
Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters on the top, then garnish with a lime wedge or wheel on the rim or dropped into the glass.
Serve
Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer. Encourage the drinker to taste and adjust with an extra splash of ginger ale or a squeeze of lime if desired.
