Prepare glass

Chill a highball or Collins glass in the freezer for a few minutes or fill it with ice and set aside while you prepare the drink.

Measure and combine

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour 2 oz Grey Goose vodka, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup.

Shake

Shake vigorously for about 10–12 seconds until the shaker is well chilled and slightly frosted.

Strain and build

Discard the ice from the chilled glass if used. Fill the glass with fresh crushed ice or ice cubes (about 1 cup). Strain the shaken mixture into the glass over the ice.

Top with soda

Gently top the drink with 2 oz cold soda water. Give the cocktail one or two gentle stirs with a bar spoon to combine without flattening the carbonation.

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim and an optional mint sprig. Serve immediately with a straw or stirrer.
