Method
Vodka Bottle (for serving)
Chill the Vodka
Place the Absolut vodka bottle in the refrigerator for at least 2–4 hours prior to serving. For quicker chilling, submerge the sealed bottle in an ice-water bath for 20–30 minutes. Cold vodka tastes smoother and is preferred for neat pours or chilled cocktails.
Open and Pour
When ready to serve neat or on the rocks, open the chilled bottle. For a standard measure, use a jigger to pour 45 ml (1.5 oz) Absolut into each glass. If serving multiple people, pour sequentially, then top with an extra ice cube if serving on the rocks.
Optional Serving Garnishes & Mixers
Vodka Soda (simple mixed drink)
Fill a highball glass with ice. Measure 45 ml Absolut vodka into the glass. Top with 120–150 ml chilled soda or tonic water. Stir gently once with a bar spoon to combine. Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim and serve.
Vodka with a Splash of Water
For a softer, slower-tasting sip, pour 45 ml Absolut neat into a chilled glass and add 10–20 ml chilled water. Stir gently. This dilutes the alcohol slightly and opens flavors.
Neat or On the Rocks
For neat service, pour 45 ml Absolut into a chilled rocks glass without ice. For on-the-rocks, add 1–3 large ice cubes after pouring. Serve with a lemon or lime wedge on the side.
Garnish & Serve
Offer lemon or lime wedges and fresh mint sprigs. If using citrus, squeeze a wedge over the drink and drop it in for aroma. Mint can be slapped between palms to release aroma before garnishing.
Bar Tools
Measure and Mix Properly
Use the jigger to measure each 45 ml pour to ensure consistent strength. If making multiple cocktails, pour each measured shot into the shaker or mixing glass and combine as required by the chosen recipe.
Stirring and Straining
If preparing a shaken cocktail, add vodka and any other liquid ingredients to the shaker with ice, shake for 8–12 seconds, then strain into the serving glass. For stirred drinks (vodka soda does not require shaking), stir gently only to combine.
Glassware Prep
Chill glasses by filling with ice water while preparing ingredients, then discard ice water before pouring. This keeps drinks colder longer without immediate dilution.
