Method
Prepare Cocktail
Chill glass
Place a coupe or highball glass in the freezer for 5 minutes or fill with ice water while you prepare the cocktail to chill the glass.
Add ingredients to shaker
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in 2 oz Absolut Citron vodka, 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lemon juice, 0.5 oz simple syrup, and 0.5 oz triple sec.
Shake
Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the shaker feels very cold. This dilutes and chills the drink properly.
Strain
If serving straight up: discard ice/water from the chilled coupe and double-strain the cocktail into the chilled glass to remove ice shards. If serving tall: fill a highball glass with fresh ice and strain cocktail over the ice.
Top (optional)
For a longer, lighter version, top the strained cocktail with about 1.5 oz cold club soda and stir once gently to combine.
