Cake Preparation

1

Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

2

Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

3

Cream Butter and Add Eggs

In another bowl, cream the softened butter until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

4

Combine Wet Ingredients

Stir in the orange juice and vanilla extract into the butter and egg mixture until smooth.

5

Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

6

Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Soaking the Cake

7

Prepare Soaking Mixture

While the cake is baking, in a small bowl, combine the fresh lime juice, fresh lemon juice, triple sec, and tequila.

8

Soak the Cake

Once the cake is done baking, allow it to cool for 10 minutes. Poke holes all over the top of the cake with a fork and pour the soaking mixture evenly over the cake, allowing it to absorb.

Whipped Cream Topping

9

Whip the Cream

In a chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.

Serving the Cake

10

Serve

Slice the cake into squares, top each piece with a generous dollop of whipped cream, and garnish with a fresh strawberry. Enjoy your Margarita Cake!
