Method
Prep & Muddle
Muddle basil
In a cocktail shaker, place 6 fresh basil leaves and 0.25 oz simple syrup (optional for extra balance). Gently clap the basil between your palms to release aromatics, then add to the shaker and lightly muddle 6–8 times — press just enough to bruise the leaves and release oils without shredding them.
Build & Shake
Add 2 oz cucumber-infused vodka, 0.5 oz Giffard Crème de Pêche, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz orgeat to the shaker with the muddled basil. Fill the shaker two-thirds with ice.
Dry shake (no ice) for 8–10 seconds to emulsify the orgeat and basil with the spirits, then add ice and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold.
Strain & Serve
Discard ice or water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or Nick & Nora glass using a fine mesh strainer to catch basil fragments and any ice shards, ensuring a silky texture.
Serve immediately. This recipe makes one cocktail; enjoy.
