Prepare the Sauce

In a bowl, combine gochujang, doubanjiang, chili oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, crushed Sichuan peppercorns, sugar, and water. Mix well to create the mala sauce.

Cook the Ddeok-Bokki

In a large pan over medium heat, add the mala sauce and bring it to a simmer. Add the Korean rice cakes and fish cakes. Stir gently to coat everything in the sauce.

Finish the Dish

Cook for about 5-7 minutes or until the rice cakes are heated through and soft. Add the chopped green onions and boiled eggs. Stir to combine.

Serve

Transfer the ddeok-bokki to a serving plate, garnish with sesame seeds, and serve hot.
