Sundae Base
Toppings
Tools (included so each component is addressed)
Method
Prepare Sundae Base
- 1
Chill serving dish (optional)
If time allows, place the small bowl or sundae glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes to keep the ice cream from melting quickly.
- 2
Add Toppings
- 3
Drizzle 2 tablespoons of chocolate sauce evenly over the top of the scoops, letting some run down the sides for classic sundae presentation.
- 4
Add 2 tablespoons of whipped cream on top of the ice cream and chocolate sauce. If using ready-whipped, dispense a small swirl; if whipping fresh, whip cold heavy cream with 1 teaspoon sugar until soft peaks form and gently spoon or pipe onto the sundae.
- 5
Place 1 maraschino cherry on top of the whipped cream, stem up.
- 6
If desired, sprinkle 1 teaspoon of rainbow sprinkles over the whipped cream and chocolate sauce for color and fun.
Serve
- 7
Serve immediately with a small spoon. Keep any leftover ingredients chilled and assemble the sundae just before serving to prevent melting.
