Preparation

Preparation

1. Prepare Grapes

Wash the red grapes thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or pesticides. Remove the stems and any spoiled grapes.

2. Crush the Grapes

Using a clean and sanitized fermentation vessel, crush the grapes to release their juice. You can use a potato masher or your hands for this step.

Fermentation

3. Add Ingredients

To the crushed grapes, add the sugar and water. Stir well to combine all ingredients thoroughly.

4. Add Yeast

Sprinkle the wine yeast over the surface of the mixture. Stir gently to incorporate the yeast.

5. Seal and Store

Cover the fermentation vessel with the airlock to allow gases to escape while keeping contaminants out. Store the vessel in a dark, cool place (about 20-25°C or 68-77°F) for about 1-2 weeks.

Bottling

6. Check Fermentation

After 1-2 weeks, check the fermentation process. The bubbling should have slowed or stopped. Taste the wine to ensure it has reached your desired sweetness and alcohol level.

7. Siphon into Bottles

Using a siphon, carefully transfer the wine from the fermentation vessel into clean, sanitized bottles, leaving some space at the top.

8. Seal the Bottles

Seal each bottle with a cork or cap. Store the bottles in a cool, dark place for aging.
