Method

Chill and prepare

1

Chill cans (if needed)

If the soda is not already cold, place the selected can(s) in the refrigerator for at least 1–2 hours or submerge in an ice-water bath for 10–15 minutes to cool quickly.

2

If using ice, fill a glass about two-thirds full with 6 ice cubes (adjust to taste). Use a clean glass sized appropriately for the can (12 oz/355 ml can fits most standard glasses).

Serving the soda

3

Open the selected can: hold the can upright on a flat surface and lift the tab to open. Listen for the fizz indicating carbonation.

4

Pour the soda slowly into the prepared glass over the ice at a slight angle to reduce foaming. Stop pouring when the glass is about 90% full to avoid overflow.

5

If desired, squeeze a lemon or lime wedge gently over the surface and drop it into the glass for a citrus note (commonly used with Sprite).

6

Insert a reusable straw if using. Serve immediately while cold and fizzy.

Storage and notes

7

If you do not finish the can, reseal as best possible by placing it back in the refrigerator and consume within 24 hours for best carbonation and taste. For opened cans, transfer leftover soda to a sealed container if possible to preserve fizz.

8

Diet Pepsi has no sugar — be aware taste differs from regular Pepsi. Sprite is clear lemon-lime soda and pairs well with a citrus wedge.
